University Mentoring Program

Connecting students with disability and employers

Our University Mentoring Program supports students with disability to plan their careers, build confidence, and connect directly with employers. It is delivered as part of the Finance Industry Community of Practice.

Delivered in partnership with Community Bridging Services (CBS), Flinders University, and a network of committed Employer Mentors, the program includes group mentoring events and one-on-one mentoring opportunities. Employer Mentors have included representatives from Credit Union SA, WRKR, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, John Holland Group, and others.

What’s involved

Students take part in:

  • Mentoring Events – such as Pathways Beyond University and Meet the Mentor, where employers share practical advice on job searching, interviewing, and career planning.
  • One-on-one mentoring – offering personalised guidance and connections to help students take the next steps after graduation.
Participants say the program helps them feel more prepared for life after university, think differently about their career options, and identify clear next steps towards employment.

For employers

We’re always looking for new employer mentors and panel speakers. Your insights can help shape the career journeys of talented students with disability.
