Working together to make the finance sector more inclusive

JFA Purple Orange is inviting expressions of interest from people working in finance and professional services to join our Finance Industry Community of Practice (CoP).

Through our Road to Employment Project, we support industries to build disability inclusion capability and create meaningful employment opportunities for people with disability.

We already have strong partnerships within the finance sector and have delivered training, mentoring, and collaborative initiatives to help businesses become more inclusive employers. All of our work is co-designed and led by people with disability.

Why this work matters

  • 1 in 5 Australians lives with disability — and many disabilities are not visible.
  • People with disability still face barriers to employment, from inaccessible systems to outdated attitudes.
  • Many businesses want to be more inclusive but aren’t sure where to start.
  • This means employers miss out on skilled and motivated talent, and the innovation that diversity brings.

The Finance Industry CoP brings people together to share ideas, build confidence, and take practical steps toward barrier-free workplaces across the finance and professional services sectors.

What CoP members do

As part of the Community of Practice, you will:

  • Help shape how the finance industry approaches disability inclusion and employment.
  • Share your ideas for inclusive strategies, policies, and practices in your workplace or industry.
  • Provide insights, thought leadership, and connections to help make these strategies a reality.
  • Advise on the best ways to promote inclusion initiatives within your networks and across the sector.

This is a chance to collaborate, learn from others, and contribute to lasting systemic change in your industry.

Who can join

We welcome expressions of interest from anyone with an interest in building inclusive workplaces within finance or professional services.

You might be:

  • A person with disability passionate about improving inclusion in the sector.
  • A finance professional, HR specialist, recruiter, leader, or diversity advocate.
  • Someone representing an industry body, training organisation, or partner organisation.

You don’t need to be an expert in disability inclusion — just open to learning and contributing your perspective.

What’s involved

Members commit to:

  • Attending quarterly online meetings.
  • Actively participating in discussions and contributing ideas.
  • Sharing insights within your organisation or network to amplify the impact of the CoP.

We provide a safe, welcoming space for collaboration and learning. Orientation and inclusion training are available to all members and their organisations.

Who’s involved

The Community of Practice is co-chaired by Daniella Biagi (Partner, Business Services, BDO) and Stacey Quinn (Director, Corporate Consulting, Commercial & Legal).

We are proud to collaborate with industry leaders including:

  • Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ)
