The Tellus Survey
What
Tellus® is the name of a research survey developed by JFA Purple Orange to gather information from people living with disability about their lives.
Why
We want to build our collective understanding of the lived experience and views of people living with disability. We are particularly looking for information that is not easily collected through traditionally data gathering methods such as the Census.
How we hope it will help
We use the data from Tellus® to influence positive change. Findings from the first survey informed a number of submissions including:
- The National Human Rights Consultation
- National Disability Strategy
- Disability Care and Support
We also used the data to inform three Tellus® reports published by JFA Purple Orange:
Key features
Tellus® surveys are conducted in a range of formats including online, over the phone, and in hard copy. We aim to make the survey as accessible as possible for all participants. All members of the disability community are invited to participate, including people with lived experience, families and supporters. The results are then carefully analysed and reported by JFA Purple Orange’s research team.
