At JFA Purple Orange, we offer a range of training and consulting services designed to help you take practical steps toward becoming a more inclusive, accessible organisation.

We work with a broad range of clients — including community organisations, businesses, local councils, and State and Commonwealth Government agencies. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to deepen your inclusion work, we can support you with flexible, evidence-informed services.

All our training and consulting services are co-designed and delivered by people with disability, ensuring lived experience is at the heart of everything we do.

Learn about access and inclusion from people with disability

We offer a range of practical, evidence-informed training courses to support organisations in becoming more inclusive and accessible for people with disability.

Mentoring for staff and leaders

Adopt more inclusive and accessible practices in your workplace

Our mentoring program supports employers to create more inclusive and accessible workplaces for people with disability.

Experienced mentors from JFA Purple Orange work alongside your team to build knowledge, increase confidence, and identify simple, low-cost changes that make a real difference. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to improve existing practices, we’ll tailor the support to suit your needs.

The program is flexible — it could be as brief as one or two meetings for advice, or a more comprehensive package that includes:

Four customised mentoring sessions
Two disability inclusion training sessions
Advice on workplace accessibility
Practical guides with tips and resources
An action plan with tailored recommendations

We can offer this support at no cost to a limited number of eligible organisations through our Road to Employment program, funded by the Department of Social Services.

Make your workplace more accessible

Creating accessible spaces is a key step towards inclusion — and it doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive.

Our team can visit your workplace and provide practical, easy-to-understand guidance on how to make your building, services, and facilities more accessible for people with disability. We focus on identifying changes that are realistic, cost-effective, and tailored to your organisation.

When we visit your workplace, we will look at physical spaces as well as service delivery, communication, and signage. You’ll receive clear feedback and a written report with practical recommendations to help you take meaningful steps towards inclusion.

Whether you’re just getting started or looking to improve existing access, we’re here to support you.

Consultancy services

Advice on best practice in disability access and inclusion

We work with businesses, community organisations, councils, and government departments to improve access and inclusion for people with disability. Our consulting services are flexible and can be delivered in person or online.

The types of consulting services we offer include:

Co-design. We lead co-design processes to involve people with disability in designing policies, programs, events and services. We can assist with process design, participant recruitment, facilitation, and reporting.
Consultation. We support community consultations, including participant recruitment, surveys, focus groups and interviews, and analysis of feedback.
Disability Access and Inclusion Plans (DAIPs). We provide advice and support on developing and implementing DAIPs, including facilitating focus groups and co-designing your DAIP.
Access guides and visual stories. We develop written and video access guides, as well as visual stories (step-by-step guides with photos) to make venues and services easier to navigate.
