JFA Purple Orange has a refreshed brand and accessible new website, co-designed with people with disability.

We offer small grants to support South Australians with disability. These grants aim to enhance quality of life, promote inclusion, and support community participation.

Eligibility: Before exploring the different grants, please read the eligibility criteria below carefully as we are legally required to distribute funds in line with these criteria.

General Purpose Distribution Fund
Short Stay Holiday Accommodation Fund
JFA Noske Christmas Fund

Please note that we have a limited amount of grant funds, so we may not be able to support every eligible application. You can receive one General Purpose or Holiday grant every two financial years.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for our grants you must:

Be over 18 years of age
Live in South Australia
Be on a low income (e.g., receiving a Disability Support Pension or equivalent)
Have one of the following:
- An acquired brain injury
- A degenerative neurological condition
- A physical disability that:
  - Impacts mobility, requiring day-to-day support (e.g., personal care, mobility aids, assistive technology)
  - Is lifelong, either from birth, early childhood, or resulting from an accident or certain illnesses

Because of the restrictions on the use of the funds, the following disabilities are not eligible: disability caused by chronic health conditions, age-related conditions (including arthritis and dementia), intellectual disability, mental illness, or autism or ADHD.

We understand this can be disappointing. Our grants are limited and must be distributed in accordance with our legal obligations. You can read more about this in the Frequently Asked Questions on the grant detail pages.

General Purpose Distribution Fund

This grant* provides up to $3,000 per person for:

- Personal or household items

- Temporary or short-term services not covered by other funding

- Activities that enhance quality of life

Examples include funding for household appliances, assistive technology, or participation in community activities.

Short Stay Holiday Fund

This grant* provides up to $1,000 to support short holidays or respite breaks within South Australia.

The Short Stay Holiday Fund helps people with disability on low income access short stay holidays in a respectful and inclusive way, at a mainstream location and with people of their choice.

JFA Noske Christmas Fund

This grant* provides up to $150 to assist people with disability on a low income with Christmas-related expenses, such as:

Gifts for loved ones
Food for celebrations
Travel costs linked to Christmas
Clothing related to the festive season
