SKILL Workshops
Who were the workshops for?
The original SKILL workshops were for people with disability, their family members and their supporters, who were interested in the steps and opportunities for taking charge in their lives.
They were co-designed by people with disability for people with disability.
SKILL now has Country Connectors running peer networks in Mount Gambier, Mount Barker, Berri, Nuriootpa, Kadina and Whyalla.
Get in touch with Andrew Gibson on andrewg@purpleorange.org.au or 0413 854 863 to find out who your local SKILL Connector is.
What did people learn in the SKILL workshops?
SKILL workshops provided a range of benefits - from learning about the NDIS, to peer support, to meeting other people with a lived experience of disability.
Although the SKILL workshops are no longer running, people can complete the SKILL workshop topics at their own pace on the SKILL website.
In the video below, Julie, Mel, Jane and Geoff share their experiences attending SKILL workshops.
