Our changed arrangements due to the pandemic
To support the wellbeing of our staff, we have closed our office building and all staff will be working from alternative locations. The phone numbers remain the same if you need to contact us during business hours.
Our focus is to do everything we can to keep our stakeholders and staff well and connected during this pandemic.
For people living with disability and their families, we will work to help people stay informed and connected. Our social media presence will continue, as will our work to develop new video clips and podcasts that bring new information and help people tell their stories about what’s important. Wherever possible we will keep running our peer networks, by using video and audio links through platforms like Zoom. We know these don’t work for everyone, so we’ll keep thinking about other ways to help people stay informed and connected. If you have suggestions about other ways we can stay connected, we would love to hear them. We also want to hear from you about the impact of the pandemic on your daily life, so that we can (1) help share any hints or tips you have for others, and (2) talk to government about issues that need to be addressed.
For other people like government agencies, service providers etc, we will continue our work in policy and practice research so that the pandemic does not stop the momentum for positive change in the lives of people living with disability. We will continue to publish material that we hope is helpful.
Where people are involved in Purple Orange projects (this includes hosted work such as Our Voice SA, Julia Farr Youth, and Disability Elders Of All Ages) that are funded by the state or federal government, we will talk to those funders about the work that is possible, and then we will let people know what we can do.
This is a challenging and distressing time for everyone. We want to reassure people living with disability that we are working hard with government and other stakeholders to ensure the disability community is not neglected in the response to COVID19. Stay well and take care of yourselves and each other.
Stay connected with us.
Stay connected with each other.
