JFA Purple Orange is delivering a series of digital skills workshops for people with disability, funded through the South Australian Government’s Digital Inclusion grants program.
This free online workshop is for people with disability who want to learn the basics of social media and how to stay safe online. Whether you’re new to social media or already use it a little, this session will help you build your confidence and understanding in a welcoming, inclusive space.
This is Workshop 1 of Series 1 in our digital advocacy and storytelling workshops.
What we’ll cover:
- What social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and LinkedIn are used for
- What hashtags, tags, likes and shares mean
- What an algorithm is and how it affects what you see
- How to protect your privacy and know what not to share
- What to do if something goes wrong – and where to get support
- Tips for avoiding overwhelm and managing your feed and notifications
