A conference for people living with intellectual disability.
Opening the doors.
This is a conference presented by people living with intellectual disability for people living with intellectual disability. This conference will open doors for you by giving you information about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (the NDIS), Goal Setting and Self-Advocacy.
Well known self-advocates Colin Hiscoe and Silvana Gant will present the story of of the Self-Advocacy movement here is Australia and Our Voice SA Committee Members Tiffany Littler and Maria Edwards will talk about their individual experience as self-advocates.
Ben Paior will talk about how Goal Setting helped him to achieve outcomes in his life and a guest speaker will present up-to-date information about the NDIS and how it is going here in South Australia.
Actor Rachel High will be overseeing the day.
Speakers will form a panel in the afternoon to answer any questions you may have.
Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.
